A miscellany like Grandma’s attic in Taunton, MA or Mission Street's Thrift Town in San Francisco or a Council, ID yard sale in cloudy mid April or a celestial roadmap no one folded—you take your pick.

Photo of the Week 7/4/10
Robin on our Porch Potting Bench Friday, July 1st
Please check out today's post at The Days of Wine & Roses; it's the next poem in the A Few More Fold-Out Postcard Sonnets series.
That's beautiful - he does seem right at home, posing (reminds me of when I was recently taking photos of sea gulls - sometimes they seemed to stand just so, one eye on you, permitting you to take a photo of them).
Sandra: Exactly--I loved the pairing of the toucan & the robin!
HKatz: That particular robin has been spending a fair amount of time on the porch. I think he gets spilled bird seed off the potting bench, because I fill the feeders there.
I wonder what the toucan thought about the visit? What a wonderful photo to have caught. It's great when you have a camera to hand for those moments. Typically, robins don't hang around long enough for me to catch them.

ReplyDeleteHi John.I hope goes well?Hey! I'm Off To See Buddy Guy Play Tonight!
ReplyDeleteHi Mouse & Tony
ReplyDeleteMouse: I didn't notice one--thanks!
Tony: Wow: enjoy Buddy Guy--now I'm jealous!
Heh - for a moment I took him to be part of the still life (a counter-balance to the toucan?). Good of him to pose like that.

ReplyDeleteReminds me of those cartoons where Daffy Duck (or whoever), tries to hide out by pretending to be something on a shelf or mantlepiece.

ReplyDeleteKat
Hi Kat: Having a glass front door sure helps getting this kind of shot!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra & HKatz
ReplyDeleteSandra: It was good of him!
HKatz: He is a bold fellow. Lately he's been getting into the cat food!
