The KOIN Center (AKA the King Kong Building)
Taken from SW 5th Ave
Portland, Oregon
Friday 1/6/12
A miscellany like Grandma’s attic in Taunton, MA or Mission Street's Thrift Town in San Francisco or a Council, ID yard sale in cloudy mid April or a celestial roadmap no one folded—you take your pick.

Is it really called the King Kong Building? Cool.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra: So I'm told!
ReplyDeleteWho, or what is Koin? Nice shot. That red brick sure stands out in the landscape. Pretty phallic, if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteHi Kat: Had I "spelled" the name correctly (since edited) it would have been easier to get: KOIN--it's the call letters of a TV station (originally a radio station dating back to 1925.)
ReplyDeleteIt's difficult to photograph a high-rise building without it looking phallic--I guess there's a reason for that!
