  2. Hi Karen: Thanks! I love the yellow-headed blackbirds, tho they have quite harsh song--sometimes described as sounding like a creaking door! They sound like harsh-voiced redwings.

  3. I don't think I've ever seen a yellow-headed blackbird - but I'll be watching for them, the next time I'm in your part of the world. Beautiful bird.

  4. Hi Sandra: According to the guidebooks, they do range into western Canada, so you might see one closer to home. Like redwinged blackbirds, they like marshy land. They're notoriously "shy," however. They are very striking!
