Photo of the Week 1/10/10
Willow tree with sparrows & juncos in Tuesday's snowstorm
Please check out today's post at The Days of Wine & Roses; it's the fourth poem in the sequence Sonnets for Lily Yukon, which I wrote in the early 90s.
Apart from the distant red barn, that's quite similar to what I see outside my back porch. I always know when Fall has really arrived when the juncos come calling. They are one of my favourites.

Hi Kat: Yes, the juncos are a seasonal bird here as well--they come down from the higher elevations in the late fall. They're trim little folks!
