Have you thought of that?

On another note, we're having a cooler than usual summer, today in the low 70s. You don't see as many on the roof here as you do in the southwest, I assume because of the snowload.

Chris: Guinea hens & chickens are fair game for everything from weasels to Great horned owls. We found it particularly difficult to keep the guineas safe because they are so determined to roost in trees.

Hi Audrey! You know, I do remember something about a shoe or boot, too. But there were so many adventures with those guinea hens I honestly can't keep them all straight.

K: Sounds fantastic-- I really like Abdullah Ibrahim's music, & so does Eberle!

Kat: We still do the same thing, but now we have A/C! & these days it's Deep Space 9 & Foyle's War, with the odd classic flick for good measure.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15687192784861682991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4821243838031243709.post-40699107314252517772009-07-01T15:15:25.773-07:002009-07-01T15:15:25.773-07:00Funny - Kevin and I do the same thing: nightclothe...Funny - Kevin and I do the same thing: nightclothes, top of the bed, only we are usually watching "Columbo".

KatKat Mortensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16877694888419628533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4821243838031243709.post-32773729929377090842009-07-01T13:17:11.830-07:002009-07-01T13:17:11.830-07:00LOL! Maybe I just put that in later for warrior effect?

And, yes, in the foothills around LA, we do have coyotes who come down into the neighborhoods in search of small domestic mammals (so sad!). When I see a coyote in the road or in a lawn, I always have the same reaction. First, I think it's a dog. Then something deep in my gut tells me that this is a wild animal. And I'm on its territory!Professor Bilgerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06814324979749733906noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4821243838031243709.post-82067072752125290632009-07-01T08:26:59.168-07:002009-07-01T08:26:59.168-07:00loved the story, John! I, by the way, know swamp coolers well, having grown up with swamp coolers on flat tar and gravel roofs in Albuquerque. Our friend Audrey sees them pretty frequently in suburban SoCal. The howl is eerie, but they also have a yip that I find even more so, especially when it's a whole pack of them.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15687192784861682991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4821243838031243709.post-10288324201724917852009-07-01T06:27:44.955-07:002009-07-01T06:27:44.955-07:00Yikes!
