Thanks!

Jessica: Glad you liked it--that is a good image; I think the sound in French is a bit better than my rendition: "en pleurent des larmes de poires blettes." Thanks for stopping by & commetning!

Kat: Péret & Faulkner seem like "strange bedfellows" (to put it mildly), but when Douglas Day taught at the University of Virginia he talked about how Faulkner was really part of the "magical realism" movement one usually associates with South America--so there you have it! Glad you liked this! & glad to see you're selling some books!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15687192784861682991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4821243838031243709.post-53245319899527030072010-07-17T08:11:00.625-07:002010-07-17T08:11:00.625-07:00I love this! (from "Light in August") is one I will never forget!
Nor will I soon forget the "ruckus of coffins bursting" and the pebble-slap against that window.
Right up my alley!

KatKat Mortensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16877694888419628533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4821243838031243709.post-16144849462303148732010-07-17T07:01:40.341-07:002010-07-17T07:01:40.341-07:00I love those tears like overripe pears!I love those tears like overripe pears!Jessicahttp://everythingfeedsprocess.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4821243838031243709.post-13583691309091790592010-07-17T05:22:30.069-07:002010-07-17T05:22:30.069-07:00The opening two lines will long sit in my mind. The opening two lines will long sit in my mind.Alan Burnetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01015127443616786425noreply@blogger.com
