I'd not seen it before, but I think I'll link to it in the next Moon June Spoon post-- should be Wednesday 6/17. You made me think of a lot of songs with Moon in the title, so looking forward to your posts. I like Jim Reeves too, but the album I have of his does not have that one on it.Linda Pendletonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04333787752335329007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4821243838031243709.post-69067877761950996242009-06-04T12:07:50.527-07:002009-06-04T12:07:50.527-07:00Hi Rose Marie & Jacqueline & Tony:
Rose M...Hi Rose Marie & Jacqueline & Tony:

Rose Marie: Thanks for your words, gracious as ever!

Jacqueline: That's funny! Yeah, two good Moon songs for sure-- & if anyone else wants to mention other songs in comments, please do! In case anyone's curious, the 42 song list is in alphabetical order, so we know for sure "Alleghany Moon" wasn't going to be on it. & "When the Moon Comes Over the Mountain" isn't either. In both cases, I don't know the song particularly well, tho I have a passing acquaintance with them.

Tony: Glad you enjoyed them!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15687192784861682991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4821243838031243709.post-4263678099055838302009-06-04T06:38:00.603-07:002009-06-04T06:38:00.603-07:00A Feast For My Ears!!!!Thank You John.Cheers Mate....A Feast For My Ears!!!!Thank You John.Cheers Mate.Regards.tonyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03746435400444226665noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4821243838031243709.post-73979090462790228682009-06-04T04:56:59.573-07:002009-06-04T04:56:59.573-07:00Two more: "Allegheny Moon" by Patti Page...Two more: "Allegheny Moon" by Patti Page, and "When the Moon Comes Over the Mountain" by Kate Smith. (Once, driving on a dark country road and suddenly seeing an enormous, glowing full moon heave itself up over the Blue Ridge Mountains, I was compelled to burst into my own poor rendition of Kate Smith's theme song. This illustrates either the power of the American Popular Song, our lingering fascination with moonlight, or that I was, in fact, somewhat tired and not making sense.)Jacqueline T. All the trees and gardens are as green as possible, the fireflies come out, and butterflies, and the lavender blooms so everything smells sweet.

Things go downhill when July arrives ... but that's summer.
