BP lived not far from here in the Lake District - also the home of John Ruskin (another interesting character) and -most famously- Wordsworth.Dominic Rivronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02618013365521035400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4821243838031243709.post-61690068754284523662009-07-17T10:54:08.870-07:002009-07-17T10:54:08.870-07:00Hi Dave & Karen:

Part 2 next Thursday.

Karen: I don't know a lot about Potter, but Eberle does, & she (like Potter herself apparently) sees her children's writing as having a serious intent & often dark vision in the background.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15687192784861682991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4821243838031243709.post-89851457821609394682009-07-17T03:19:13.771-07:002009-07-17T03:19:13.771-07:00This is an interesting look at an author about who...This is an interesting look at an author about whom I know very little. I don't know why I have equated Potter with her lovely works, never once considering that she had this rich, mature inner life of her mind...Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12003379181294550035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4821243838031243709.post-26637352170197909082009-07-17T03:19:06.422-07:002009-07-17T03:19:06.422-07:00That was a great post indeed. A few years ago we used to go on holiday to Tenby in Wales. I discovered that the house where we would stay used to be visited by Beatrix Potter and she may have used the small garden at the back of the house as the inspiration for Mr McGregor's vegetable garden. The last I heard, the Council was thinking of concreting the garden over and turning it into a car park!Alan Burnetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01015127443616786425noreply@blogger.com
