Of course, as you may be aware, the eggs & butter referred to in this song are not the sort that actually contribute to cholesterol!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15687192784861682991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4821243838031243709.post-60963629071866877022011-10-16T16:15:18.201-07:002011-10-16T16:15:18.201-07:00"Butter and Egg Man" sounds very unhealt..."Butter and Egg Man" sounds very unhealthy. Since the hot jazz bands more often than not had a piano as well as a banjo to play the harmony part, the banjos were able to play those fast strums on the treble strings/up the neck, the piano having such a great bass range. That keeps them so light. On YouTube when I've heard folks strumming open chords on the banjo guitars they've tended to sound muddy, to my ear at least.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15687192784861682991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4821243838031243709.post-35290325770024294662011-10-14T05:24:11.866-07:002011-10-14T05:24:11.866-07:00Interesting. I've mostly only heard the banjo-guitar played in the fast strum style of the early hot jazz bands. This was something completely different.
